Introduction
In this
project we have been given the task of making a multi-camera live production in
a subject of our choice. There are a wide range of forms that use this kind of
media such as TV shows and videos found on YouTube. I will be using this
project to try make a podcast that has a similar theme to the popular TV series
Room 101. The show Room 101 is a comedic chat show that features a host
(currently hosted by Frank Skinner) interviewing celebrity guests on certain pet peeves they
individually have. the guests compete for their pet hates to be locked away in
room 101 as they tell jokes and amusing stories as they present their case for
why they hate their respected peeve. starting in 1994, the show itself is aging on reaching 24 years as of this year. in this
time the show has changed networks and has changed hosts twice, Nick Hancock (1994–1999), Paul
Merton (1999–2007), Frank
Skinner (2012–2018). Even with these change over the years the show does
not have the popularity its ones did, a belief for this is the recently up rise
in technology. This is the main reason I decided to push my focus on the show.
As I think an interesting way to bring this show back could be to have it presented
in a podcast like manor with segments and a setup that appeals to a new,
younger audience. This revamp could be what an aging show such as Room 101
needs to keep going to appeal to the younger generation. I will be using this
project as a way to work on my planning and preparation skills as a project
like this requires a lot of prep in order to have an understanding on how to
correctly carry out the production and post-production in a show such as the
one I have selected. whether I have succeeded in this aim will show in my final
product at the end of the project.
